Proposal guidelines

We look forward to receiving your proposal based upon our guidelines. Our editors will respond swiftly to all proposals, providing you with an initial assessment of its market potential.

If you are considering writing a textbook, please contact the editorial team at McGraw-Hill to speak to us about your ideas. When you are developing a new textbook proposal, you should consider some of the questions that we would ask to find out more about your book:

* In one sentence, what is your vision for your book?

* Who is the primary audience for your book?

* What are the three most compelling features of your text?

* How would the features in your text translate into benefits to potential adopters and students?

* In your view, which text is the market leader in this subject? What distinguishes you book from this text?

* How do you visualise the book? For example, approximately how many tables, charts, photographs and artwork would you propose to have in a chapter?

* Why are you the best person to write this book?

When writing a proposal outlining your vision for the book, your proposal should be approximately 6-8 pages long, and include a table of contents, which is as detailed as possible.

Reviewers

We are also keen to hear from people with expertise in particular areas who are interested in reviewing manuscripts.
