Everyone is Different: I Have Epilepsy
This is the sixth publication in the ‘Everyone is Different’ series of children’s books. It aims to teach children basic information about epilepsy in order to help them to understand the health and social needs of their peers with epilepsy. It is aimed primarily at school libraries, but would be useful for any child who needs to know about epilepsy.
The book is about Tom, who writes about what it is like to have epilepsy. Tom explains what epilepsy is and about what happens to him during his seizures. He explains in a very clear way what people should and should not do should he have a seizure in school. In a very matter of fact way he describes his medication and then goes on to talk about his aims and ambitions.
This is a very well written book and the photographs of real people provide a realistic background to his story.
