Online Case Studies

Below you will find 6 mini case studies with case questions that you can work through. They aim to show you how marketing principles can be applied to real-life scenarios. Try to answer the case questions to see if you can apply what you have learnt to each example.

More cases will be available to accompany this book in the near future. As we develop these, they will provide you with further examples to help you with your coursework.

Regional Case Studies
In addition to the many cases in the text and available on the free student CD-ROM, we have provided a range of regional cases which reflect the differences in the cultural and business environment across Europe. These regional case studies illustrate marketing practice in different economies, but they provide you with extra up-to-date examples demonstrating the general marketing principles that you have read about in the text.

Below you will find a range of new cases that feature Irish companies and organisations. This collection of cases has been edited by Declan Fleming and Elaine Wallace, Department of Marketing, National University of Ireland, Galway.

In the near future we will be updating this site with new examples from Northern and Central Europe.

Case Study Notes
To provide you with some suggestions of how to approach a case study analysis, and to help you to tackle the case questions, we have provided a set of notes with Case study 6, including a synopsis, key learning points and objectives, and guide answers to the questions. The notes to accompany this case provide a useful introduction to SWOT analysis, and should also equip you with ideas on how to work through the remaining cases and questions.
